first_imgFrances EvansFrances Evans, 91, of Wichita, formerly of Oxford died Saturday, April 16, 2016 at her daughter’s home in Wichita, Kansas.Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 20th at the Oxford Funeral Service Chapel in Oxford.  Visitation will be held Wednesday morning from 9:00 A.M. until service time. Interment will be at the Oxford Cemetery. A memorial has been established with the Humane Society and may be left with Oxford Funeral Service 104 N. Sumner, Oxford, KS 67119. For further information please visit Jeane Evans was born on December 29, 1924 the daughter of Miles “Shorty” and Wilma Frances (Lambert) Turner in Three Sands, Oklahoma. She graduated from Oxford High School in 1942. After High school Frances worked on the bombers for the United States during World War II as a “Rosy the Riveter”. She was united in marriage with Bobby B. Evans in 1948. Frances was also a homemaker who was a great cook and loved her family.Survivors include her daughter, Wilma Evans and son, Robert Evans and wife Pamela both of Wichita; two grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren and favorite dogs, Mollie and Dollie.Preceding her in death are her parents and husband Bobby B.
